Hemingway was not only active as writer, but also as reporter and war correspondent, at the same time adventurer, deep-sea fisherman and game hunter, which is reflected in his works. Hemingway gave expression to the weariness of the Lost Generation. Following the example of Mark Twain and Gertrude Stein, he developed a "modern classicism", the trademark of which is a particular barreness of the style.
Even though Hemingway repeatedly suffered from severe depression and finally committed suicide in 1961, we decided to base his bust on photos showing him in more powerful moments. This way, we find his creative power and his extraordinary abilities as a writer better represented instead of reducing him to the tragic phases of his life.
We even gave him a slight smile. His pronounced laugh lines were a trademark of his charismatic face, despite all objections. The age at which we modeled him corresponds roughly to the period between 1950 and 1955, when his most famous work, the novel “The Old Man and the Sea” was written. We only dressed the bust with a light shirt as Hemingway was living in pleasantly warm Cuba, at that time.

was one of the most sucessful and most famous US-American writers of the 20th century. In 1953 he received the Pulitzer-Prize for his novel "The old Man and the Sea" and in 1954 he received the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Sculpting
We sculpt the bust on the computer in contrast to the traditional sculptors and modellers. We use ultra-modern and even self-developed software. Of course, educated artists sculpt the bust.
Manufacturing the bust
For the production of the real bust we use several 3D printers.
Shipping
Your bust will be carefully packed and despatched via DPD or DHL.
Of course, we also send your bust abroad. We have shipped our busts safely even to customers in Brazil and Australia.
Just a short note on material and care
The busts are made of a special plastic material and are hollow.
The material is suitable for indoor use.
If you want to clean the bust please use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not clean it under a water jet or similar!
