Bad Nauheim, early 1959: A GI named Elvis Presley casually leans against the railing of a small bridge in the picturesque spa town. The king of rock 'n' roll is doing his military service at this time, stationed in Germany. He is already a world star, but it is still uncertain whether his time off from the stage can be made up for later. Not least because of this, the photographer is visiting on behalf of the record label and takes the pictures of Elvis in order to adorn the next single release with current photos.

Bad Nauheim, August 2021: Today everyone knows that Elvis' popularity and cult status was not affected by his time in the military, quite the opposite. Even the photo from back then has cult status today. And now he's back on the bridge, over 62 later, immortalized as a bronze statue. The project, initiated and organized by Angela Storm and Meike Berger, met with a great deal of media coverage and even greater attention among Elvis fans in Germany and around the world. We at EGO3D modeled the life-size statue of the musician and world star on behalf of the two initiators.

Our miniature with railing was created based on the original data of the large statue. So you get the "real" statuette which corresponds to the original down to the smallest detail. 30 Euros from every sale goes to the initiators to support future Elvis projects.

Update:
Despite good packaging, some Elvis statues were damaged in transit and the railing broke off. Since we want your Elvis statue to reach you safely, you will receive it in three parts (figure, railing and base plate).
You only have to put the figure and the railing on the base plate. You are welcome to use a drop of "normal" glue (no superglue). We hope you enjoy your miniature of the statue of Elvis in Bad Nauheim that we modeled.

Bronze sculpture of the King of Rock'n Roll

Elvis Presley was stationed in Germany near Bad Nauheim from 1958 to 1960. Numerous photos of the King of Rock'n Roll were taken during this time, including one on a bridge in Bad Nauheim. This photo was our template for the statue of Elvis.

Behind the Elvis project are the two Elvis fans Angela Storm and Meike Berger, who made it their task to erect a memorial for Elvis in Bad Nauheim. Because the two years that Elvis spent in Germany were formative for him, not least because he met his future wife Priscilla in Germany.

The goal of the project was to create a life-size bronze statue of Elvis that not only looked exactly like Elvis in the old photo, but would eventually be placed in the same place in Bad Nauheim. The city of Bad Nauheim even agreed to rebuild the old railings of the bridge that no longer exist, so that it looks like it did back then.

The most important part of working on the Elvis sculpture was carving out the facial features. The particular difficulty here was that Elvis could not be portrayed with his usual quiff, sideburns and stand-up collar, but with short hair, shaved temples and a military uniform. In constant consultation with our clients, sometimes directly on site, we perfected Elvis' facial features until even the most critical eyes of the fans were happy with the result.

We modeled numerous details on the uniform using carefully researched photos from Elvis' service in the US military. Some elements could only be found on a single photo, which we then used as a template.

Finally, we produced the sculpture with our 3D printers and bronzed the surface. In this way, our clients were able to present the sculpture at various events and give potential donors a better impression of the subsequent casting for the overall project. After the successful completion of the fundraising campaign, the presentation model served as the casting model for the bronze foundry as intended.
