Ludwig van Beethoven is one of the most important composers of all times. By far the most famous portrait of Beethoven was painted by Josef Karl Stieler. The picture is so widespread that most people have this portrait of Beethoven in their heads. Therefore, we have oriented ourselves in the expression of this picture. However, since Josef Karl Stieler was known for idealizing his portraits, we also examined the facial anatomy by a plaster mask which was made from Beethoven at that time. Furthermore, we oriented ourselves on the sculpture by Hugo Hagen which was made posthumously and who also had the mask as a template.
For sulpting the hair, in turn, we focused on a pencil drawing by August von Klöber, which convinced Beethoven himself and had his haircut well captured in his opinion.
With these templates, we modeled our bust not only as a tribute to an ingenious musician, but also with the aim of creating a true image of the human being Ludwig van Beethoven.

Ludwig van Beethoven baptized 17 December 1770 in Bonn, Kurköln; "? March 26, 1827 in Vienna, Empire of Austria) Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist. A hearing affliction that worsened over time to total deafness put an early end to his career as a pianist. Beethoven concentrated more and more on composing and left behind an extensive work. Beethoven lived up to his claim to leave a lasting musical work for posterity. His popularity is unbroken, and today he is one of the most-performed composers in the world.
