The genesis of the bust:
There are many portraits of Immanuel Kant, whereof none has the reputation of being historically correct. As, in addition, the numerous pictures are clearly different from each other, we have chosen the anatomically and artistically most balanced pictures as templates.
Based on this our sculptors created a bust which blends harmoniously into the already existing range of works. Our bust represents Immanuel Kant in middle years of life, when he already received the highest recognition among contemporaries. The bust has the earnest expression of a thinker without being gloomy. The gaze is turned directly to the viewer, rather than visionary into the distance. Undoubtedly, Kant was a visionary among the philosophers. But he turned philosophy into a spiritual science that addresses man directly as an acting, rational being, for example with his "Categorical Imperative": "Only act on the maxim that you also want it to become a universal law."

Immanuel Kant
1724 - 1804
Immanuel Kant was a German philosopher who is widely considered to be a central figure of modern pilosophy. His major work is the Critique of Pure Reason (1781)
